Preschool Discipline Program
Our discipline program provides a systematic approach to reward and positive reinforcement.
Reward – Our curriculum utilizes a “token” reward system. Tokens may be exchanged at the end of each week for rewards. Traditionally, teachers have used the token system as a form of punishment, yet call it a reward system. They reward children with tokens for good behavior, yet punish them by taking tokens away for inappropriate behavior. Or, they only give children tokens for good behavior forcing children to “work” for a “reward.” This can be extremely difficult for some children. Our system is a true “reward” system. In our system, children are rewarded for effort and progress in learning in regards to self discipline.
Social Education – our curriculum provides a systematic approach to teaching children how to identify and regulate their emotions. Self calming techniques are also taught. After these skills are mastered, children will move on to more advanced traditional concepts in character education such as respect, caring, etc.
